Blue Boy (2013/2014/2016)

Blue Boy was first shown as a Scratch/Work in Progress at the inaugural Quarter Arts Festival, curated by Makeshift Ensemble, in 2013. Below, is a pic of the show in rehearsal.

Blue Boy returned for a week in 2014 in the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival. Below are a couple of reviews.

“”Blue Boy”, written by Mark Ward, had me riveted as he told a story of abuse and retaliation in a language and meter that vacillated between narrative and subconscious. ” – Playwright Sean Chandler.
“…Mark Ward’s ‘Blue Boy’ was very different. This white coated solo performance in verse brought us into a dark space of dominance and control with dire consequences.”
– International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival review.

I’m part of this year’s LINGO Festival and I’m going to be performing Blue Boy at its Festival Klub on Oct 22nd.

AND five days later, it’s going to be published in Assaracus: A Journal of Gay Poetry #24
